In 1948 Beech built as a private venture a two-seat trainer based on the V-tail civil Bonanza. The piston-engined T-34 was adopted by the U.S. Air Force as it's primary trainer in 1953 and U.S. Navy in 1954.

The T-34C, a turboprop version of the Mentor was first flown in 1973 and adopted by the U.S. Navy as it's primary trainer in 1977. This version is known as the Turbo-Mentor.

This model was created for RealFlight by Doug Kaye (DHK79).
