Douglas O-46 observation

The O-46 was the last in a line of successful Douglas observation monoplanes. Prior to the its involvement in WW2 USAAC had begun to consider the O-46 to be two heavy for soft field operations, too large for concealment near front lines and too underpowered and un-manoeuvrable to survive when threatened by fighters.
