In 1911, the Société Anonyme des Établissements Nieuport was formed from the company originally known as Nieuport-Duplex, a manufacturer of engine components and eventually complete airplanes. In 1914, Gustave Delage joined Nieuport and was responsible for the highly successful Nieuport Scout design.
The Nieuport 28C-1 was developed in 1917 and was the first biplane design from Nieuport that featured an upper and lower wing with almost equal chords. Unfortunately, the French Air Service rejected this aircraft in 1918 in favor of a more advanced design, the SPAD S.XIII. All was not lost for Nieuport, however, as the American Expeditionary Forces adopted this design while awaiting their production of the SPADs. In fact, the Nieuport 28 became the first airplane flown in combat by the AEF in WWI.
Various modifications for RF 7.5 create performance characteristics like what the real model would have.
Flies very much like the model in YouTube video
Fly with the rate switch in the “High” position. Typical 4 channel controls.
A very nice example of a vintage WW I biplane.
