Aircraft History
Built by Bell in Buffalo, New York. Delivered to the U.S. Army. Disassembled and shipped overseas to Australia and reassembled. This Airacobra was armed with a 20mm cannon.

Wartime History
Assigned to the 8th Fighter Group, 36th Fighter Squadron. Nose letter Q. Nicknamed "Air-A-Cutie" with a nude woman on each side of the nose. The spinner, a circular ring around the nose and tip of the tail were all painted white. This aircraft operated in New Guinea. Ultimate fate unknown, likely scrapped or otherwise disappeared.
