This is a Real Flight 7.0 electric powered Powerhouse, an Old Timer model, setup as a 3 channel RC assist trainer.
The original plane was designed by one of the great pioneers in our hobby, Sal Taibi.
A web site search showed slightly different dates, but my best understanding is Sal designed the Powerhouse in 1938,
and one of the first published records was in the November 1939 issue of Model Airplane News.


According to that 1939 article by Sal, the suggestion was "an 18" propeller of approximately 12 - 14 pitch."
The CG has been set for the best glide, and that combined with a low wing loading and the large diameter propeller results in very little power being required for flight.
AVs with physics changes from those with real world experience in flying the Powerhouse are welcomed.
