Well, here ya go UT. I added my White Rose tail gear I modeled several years ago. I love the way it turned out, but I hate setting the physics on it.

Thanks for the explanation of rendering, I have never tried to render in Max (paint the model) I do that in Photoshop after I export the model out of Max.
Question, is there an advantage to render in Max (export a colored model) what should I do for best results ?

Ha, I was wondering if you had looked at that, since I posted about it. It looks fantastic, it amazed then, AND, still does today. I think you modeled it specifically for the 33% Pitts. (don`t recall) best of all,I believe you modeled it after the actual wheel that`s on the Pitts. If not, I believe it`s real close to the real deal...??? kind of hard to tell, looking at available pics.

Those look real slick.
Thanks. I’m surprised though at the render times I’m getting. I can remember getting a render that looks half this good to take 30+minutes to complete. These are averaging around 5-10 on an outdated gaming laptop.

The original model was created for someone that supposedly built their own model but wanted me to do the gear and wheels. The guy claimed to be a professional modeler but was having issues on it. Looking back I can see I was probably conned into modeling something for a stolen model. He talked a good talk about freelance opportunities then just kind of vanished when I was done. I believe the model is on the swaps somewhere though.

Yeah they have made some real leaps in the last 5 years.

Not, much to show, but I managed to get the flying wires roughed in. By no means are these finished or correctly placed, but it's about the best I can do while running on around 20 hours sleep in the past 9 days.

WOW Andy, they look absolutely FANTASTIC, I really like the turnbuckles, nice touch/nice job..!!! Thanks for the update. I`ve been working on the graphics/logos, they`re coming along nicely, but still lots to go, hardest are yet to come, I`ve been having to brush up (pun intended. :) ) on my Gimp skills..... MOST important, get some sleep (when you can) and take care of matters on the home front first, we`ll be watching...;);) :D

Very nice work Andy they look great. It's funny I added the wires on my plane today too and was going to post a picture but they're not as nice as your's so I'll post my picture this afternoon after we get back from the Doctor, another trip to Dallas to see a specialist.

Spent a little more time on the render scene last night. Probably won't be seeing too many of these though. This is the initial setup and there's still a ton of work to do on the lighting to remove the noise, and I plan on getting the outside of the hanger to be more natural, but you get the gist.
