Bad quality control

I just purchased g2, and just my luck the CD sleeve is missing along with my serial #. Nice that customer support doesn't believe I bought it - so, I guess it's being returned back to the store. Nice one.
 
Where is your receipt?

If you did indeed buy the Generation 2 CD you should atleast have a box and a receipt. And well the cd as well. Return them with a note saying what the problem is and I bet you will have them replaced to your satisfaction. If you have a copy of G2 from a friend, you will never be able to get it to work.
 
Returning it is not the problem (other that it being mail ordered). Your reply is about the same as tech support, disbelieving that I actually paid for it. Supplying the key ID of the parallel adapter wasn't even good enough for them to cough up a new serial.
