The unique configuration of the Staggerwing makes it instantly recognisable, a winner of many air races in the 1930s, a large, powerful Pratt & Whitney 9 cyl’ radial of 450hp endowed it with a top speed of well over 200mph, it was also equipped with retractable undercarriage, most unusual for a Biplane of this time.
