Not always.
Some reserved characters are OK in user names but foul up non operating system software.
Dashes ( sometimes used for "pipes" ), greater than signs, etc will work for the most part, but create all sorts of grief for second party applications that look to truncated or mis-identified folders.
It's easy enough to test this, by creating another user account on the computer and performing the same exports, etc.
The problem that U-Bird is experiencing, is that even though he may be using a different account, he is STILL utilizing the same models, etc.. that have their paths hard coded.
That's why he still sees the message with the double periods in the path from the other account.
All of this has come up before with prior versions of Realflight and non standard characters.
