Extra 300 1200mm. Sim vs. Field!

Hello R. flyers, I have flown a extra 300 after the low wing trainer. Night & day. Been on a hiatus from rc flying for 3 decades now and practicing on Sims. Bought 2 new - 48" Hookll pnp
foamies in white & yellow. Now I think I might be over my head. The finger controlls with my galaxie s23 phone screen don't cut it trying to running my thumb controlls on phone screen. I find the absolute sim easy with l.w. plane included but very tricky with the extra 300 I downloaded. Should I get a R. flight controller and cast the screen onto my flat screen TV connecting it with a USB 3 to type C module . Will the R flight controller help me controlling the 300 . It's that or get a laptop to hook up real flight simulater complete package. Sold my computer long ago with the phone doing all I needed. Any feedback would be very much appreciated .

The RealFlight controller - the InterLink DX - is designed to look like a Windows game controller. It would be very similar to plugging an Xbox controller into your phone.

If that part actually worked, and I can't tell you if it would work or not, then the next question would be whether or not the sim you're using would allow you the flexibility to map the various Windows game inputs (X-Axis, Y-Axis, etc.) to the airplane controls (Throttle, Elevator, etc.)

Thanks for that input aflighenger. I guess the idea of using a controller like my Spektrum dx6e casting to the TV
screen and running a free android sim like Absolute f.sim is not a straight forward proposition. I was trying to go the cheapest route for skill enhancing after so many years since I flown rc

If you decide to go down the path of getting a laptop and RealFlight, I'll also encourage you to spend the $100 for the InterLink DX controller rather than getting a wireless USB receiver to try to use your DX6e. It will be MUCH easier to get RealFlight working correctly with the InterLink DX. If you'd rather concentrate on flying instead of programming the controller, it's worth the extra money.

Resist the temptation to buy the RF Trainer package with the SLT6 or the WS2000 wireless USB receiver. If you only want to start with RF Trainer, that's fine (understanding its limitations), but still put the money into the InterLink DX. You can buy RF Trainer and the InterLink DX as two separate items.

I will do but I think I will set my controll horns on least throw imput and take off & rely on my Phone sim practice
