I'm not ready to start on it yet but I'm going to create a Gas version of the Extreme Flight Slick 580 85" for @rcdoski . I'll do the 3D modeling and rcdoski will do the physics. I may end up doing an AV for it setup the way I fly but the released plane will have rcdoski's physics, so it will be true 3D XA at release.

Tech, I don't want this to pull you away from your current build. But I know you will do what you want to do. I have to say your plane looks very close to what you have downloaded from Extremeflight.

I'll be getting back to the other plane for a while. But I wanted to get the plane started and the plan imported. See my update.

I just finished importing the plan. The plane I'm using to model it from is very close but there are noticeable differences. If you see anything you want to mention now is the time. Because for this plane I want to rework it once and get it done, not do my normal thing and tweak it forever.

So the shaded model will follow the outlined one. Which means the vertical and horizontal tail will be moved forward. Perfect, that makes for a better tumbling aircraft which is what it is.

I started reworking the side view. But I noticed the canopy alignment got messed up when I did the top view, so I spent the last hour fixing that. Then I decided to reattach the canopy to the fuselage so that would all be one piece to deal with. The side view is more off than the top view so they'll be more work aligning it to the plan. After I get the side view finished, I'll rework the landing gear. So things are moving along.

I worked on the side view this morning but there's still a lot to do. It's odd, the top view was fairly easy but the side view is taking a lot more work. But that's enough for now I need to go do the grocery shopping.

I just finished reworking the vstab, so one more thing done. The fuselage on the Slick 580 was shorter than the plane I'm modeling it from so I had to do a 3-axis reduction to get it right, so that messed up the top view. But hopefully all I'll need to do is widen the fuselage from the top view to get it back right since I already shaped it. Like I said the side view is turning out to be a pain.

I took the wife to see her specialist in Dallas, so we just got back. I just realized all the work I did this morning was for nothing. I hadn't resized the spinner after I resized the fuselage and when I unhid the plan the spinner was much smaller than it is on the plan. So now I need to start all over. Dumb ole me.

Since I wasted my time this morning, I decided to do something I wanted to do. The spinner that was on the plane I'm using to model it with wasn't what I wanted on the Slick 580 so I took the one off the Legacy Chipmunk and put it on this plane. I needed to resize and tweak it a little but at least I got something done I was planning to do. I guess tomorrow I may start shaping the front view of the cowl again or I might pause for a bit and work on the other plane. The spinner that was on the plane had a screw in the nose and it wasn't right for this plane.

The first time I reworked the front view of the cowl I had to do some prep work before I did it, so I had to do that all over again. So, I just finished doing that so I'm ready to do the cowl rework again. It seems the only thing I'm good at these days is making mistakes. Ugh.
