The Fairchild Republic XF-15 was a competitor for the 1967 USAF government request for proposal that ultimately led to the McDonnell-Douglas F-15 Eagle. It was never prototyped; the republic factory was not as mechanized as McDonnell-Douglas factory and lost the contract there. Another fantastic model, very clever use of elevon/ailerons for banking and the aileron/flaps combination gives great low speed control, love the landing gear, legs extend when unloaded and flex back up (pivot) on landing, the pivoting knee joint on the legs displays "springy scale visual operation", not just the wheel moving up and down on the axles (like RF's springy scale retracts) and of course all the linkages, levers on the gear is awesome.
The missiles and tank drop fall very realistic.
