Graphics issues

Whenever im playing realflight or some other game after a few minuts the screen will momentarily go black the pop back on and i will get a popup saying that my display driver crashed, i can resume flying/playing but I will get alot of "noise" in the pictures on any graphics intensive or semi graphics intensive application and the only way to get it to stop is a total reboot

im running Vista 32-bit
dell 530S
dual core
Nvidia GeForce 4800

Are you SURE you have a GeForce 4800?

Don't you mean 8400?

The 4800 is a very old "TI" type Nvidia card.

----

Anyway... what you are seeing is due to an instability of your computer system.

"and i will get a popup saying that my display driver crashed,"

It can be caused by a myriad of things, but this is really not due to Realflight itself.

I recently ran into this same thing with a rather high end card, using another program.

Here are some of the possible causes of this problem.

- Conflicting Library ( .DLL ) files remain on your system from older drivers
- Conflicting "C" Library files from other software installations
- Conflicting Windows Driver files
- Memory errors
- Problems with your on-board DMA controller
- PCI/E Bus problems
- PCI/E voltage regulation issues
- Varying Processor voltages and system power regulation
- Bad on board clock timers
- Undue latency on other devices or drivers
- Hard Drive or CD-ROM DMA errors ( ARE ALL OF YOUR CD's EJECTED????!!! )
- Buggy drivers.
- Overclocking
- High Heat

Later Nvidia drivers include a VPU recovery feature, but even with this enhancement if such errors appear, then you have a problem elsewhere.

BTW: I was able to eliminate my problem by replacing my system RAM and updating drivers.
