Great Planes Dirty Birdy

I finished the 1st and 2nd pass of mapping, but I still need to do the 1x1 mapping. I just finished tweaking the mapping a little so I updated the picture.

For some reason doing the 1x1 mapping is something I don't like to do and always seems to slow me down. But I'll get to it I just have to take a break for a bit.

I finally got going on the 1x1 mapping and just finished it. So now I can start on the color scheme.

I did the bottom checkerboard. I also did the canopy but I'll show it later when I do the fuselage stripe.

I added the fuselage stripe. The only thing left to paint is the engine. I still need to create the spec map so I can add some gloss. After I do that I'll post a picture from RealFlight, so far the pictures are from the 3d editor.

I just finished painting the engine but I need to check a couple of things before I call the engine finished.

The city told us they're replacing a power pole in my area tomorrow between 8-4 so I guess I'll be powerless for a long time.

I just finished the 1st pass of mapping. Now I need to go back and set all the relative sizes and move the parts to the grid used to save the TGA file. Then I can start creating the color scheme. I like this plane and want to see how it looks in RealFlight after I finish the color scheme.

I just finished painting the engine but I need to check a couple of things before I call the engine finished.

Well the power went off at 8:10 am and came back on at 3:16 pm. But my wife's computer won't boot. It's a Dell and it's running a self-test now, but when trying to boot it said it couldn't access the boot device.

I found a place on the engine mapping I needed to tweak so now everything looks okay. I also found a place on one of the fuselage stripes I need to tweak and then I'll do the spec map.

I did a bit of tweaking to the color scheme and created the spec map, then I imported the plane into RealFlight. I still have some work to do on the spec map but here's a couple of pictures from RealFlight.

I finished the spec map and started working on another color scheme. I haven't added the stripe on the fuselage yet but here's where it is now.

I have the new color scheme mostly finished. I just need to duplicate the stripes on the side of the parts facing away from the picture. But here's a picture of it with the fuselage stripe on it. I can't decide if this color scheme needs a black stroke on the stripes or just leave them white. And should it have the same checkerboard on the bottom of the wing as the first color scheme or just use the same stripes as the top has.

I finished the second color scheme. I guess it's time to start working on the physics.
