Incompetence

I've been modifying a spit model I found online to become a Carf turboprop and there's two large issues. The exhausts, elevators and ailerons are see-through, and the control surfaces rotate along the wrong axis.

Can somebody give me a hand?

the exhaust has not inner surface either uses the ~SBS (show both sides) prefix on material name (easy but no thickness) or define a inner surface (harder but has thickness)
the ailerons the faces are inside out.
the elevator looks like there are no hard edges or the smoothing is wrong. (not sure exactly)

not sure what the exact issue is for the "control surfaces rotate along the wrong axis."
check the pivots and make sure they are located on the correct axis and angle
