Can anyone make a Lancaster bomber for me,or if anyone has any ideas how to start.I'd do it myself but haven't gotta clue. I know this could be emotional blackmail but my father-in-law was tail gunner in ww2 and my missus would love to see me "fly" it........many thanks. :)

Thats cool. I'd also like to have a cool looking landcaster. :)

Here's a pic I took of a Lancaster at Duxford Air Museum in the UK. This was only one hanger out of six. Incredible place that I highly recommend!!

I also added a Avro Vulcan B2, awsome jet. I took about 300 pictures in one day.

Lancaster 3 Views

I found a couple more 3 views since my post in January. I e-mailed them to Cowboy but I dont think he thought they would work. He found a book that had good 3 views in it. He said that he would like to do a Lancaster sometime but he has a long list of aircraft to do before he could get to it. I just hope that if someone does pick up this project, they will do it so it works in G3.5 :)

The 3-view on the right would work fine. I would still use the one I attached if I were to do it (which I don't have time to take another project on)

My attachment has the addition of the fuse and wing profiles...which helps make the model that much more accurate.

Hey pplace, do you have a link to the full-size of the 3-views you posted? No way am I qualified or talented enough to build that plane but I'm trying to learn and it might be fun to see what I can do with it. And those are about the best 3-views I've ever seen for any plane!

poppaninge if you're serious about building it yourself, check out the stickies at the top of the Designer's forum. There are a number of threads there with all the info you'll need to get started, and links to software that you need to build and paint the model.

I'm trying to learn this stuff myself (it is a challenge!!!) and I'm gonna try to take on the Lanc :) Always loved that plane, I built a 1/72 model of a Dam Buster when I was a little kid after seeing the movie. If it turns out looking better than something that falls out the "sitting end" of my dog (unlikely ;)) maybe I'll post it on swaps. That will take a while though, might be faster to learn it yourself!
