Miss Vintage

I added the new glasses I made to the pilot this morning. I tried to make them look like goggles since the pilot is in a WWI looking plane. So take a look and let me know if you think the new glasses are better or I should put back the original glasses.

I did a lot of tweaks this morning. I recessed the end of the fuselage so the first brace of the lattice work can be seen like the plan. It wasn't necessary for the model, but I liked it, so I added it. I also reworked the windscreen. It needed a little resize and the project I imported it from the frame wasn't exactly like I like it, so I reworked that part too. Small things no one would notice but I like them, so I added them. Now I need to redo the smoothing groups on the lattice work, they're a bit off and I can see some shading on them when I do a render. But it's moving along nicely.

I finished reworking the smoothing groups for the lattice work. Now I need to add those little rounded triangle looking caps on each of the braces. Then I need to add a power plant of some kind. I don't really know what I'll use yet. But after that I suppose it will be time to do the first import and to map it.

Why not make a radial and a eletric version

Why not make a radial and a eletric version
I really like the radial on it but the problem is there isn't a real-life radial that would fit it, they're either too small (5cc) or too large (33cc). And the 33cc radial is only 3 cylinders, which doesn't look that good to me. So if I make a radial version it won't be real-life. And the 3 cylinder radial weighs 61 oz vs 23 oz for the OS FS-95 four-stroke. The Mr. Vintage kit is 70 in. and weighs 7.5 lbs so a 5 lb radial on it is too much. So there's my problem. The only way I can put a radial on it is make a fantasy version (we've called some planes I've done in the past that, which were not true to life).

We love the work u put into the planes to make them realistic but sometime on the sim you just have t say f it even if its not realistic it looks nice

I did the first import into realflight today, and being honest there are a number of things I don't like. So I think I'll take the build off-line and make some changes that will make me happy. I did some things I thought would look good but they don't look good to me. So I need to tweak a bunch of stuff to get it where I like it.

I've been playing around with some changes to make Miss Vintage work better for me. I added some things I thought was okay but I didn't care for them when I saw them in RealFlight. So I'm going to take some stuff out and move it back to a simpler plane like I started with. And being honest I plan to release it as Miss Vintage EP, that way I can do a 4-stroke version later if I want too. But for some reason these days I seem to prefer electric versions.

I did some more tweaking on Miss Vintage, and she looks better to me. I don't know why such a simple plane is messing with me. Maybe it's because it was a quick pick so I didn't think about it much. I did do a flip-flop on what power plant to use. After I flew it some more with the 4-Stroke I decided it had to have that 4-Stroke thumper sound. The EP buzz didn't sound right for the vintage look.
