Need a little help with blender export_3ds2kex.py script [SOLVED]

I have RF 6, Windows 7 pro 64bit
installed python 2.6
set the environmental path in vista to include ";C:\Python26;C:\Python26\Scripts"
Blender 2.49b installed without asking for python 2.6

export_3ds2kex.py was placed in a blender script subdirectory
set the blender script path preference to that subdirectory
saved preferences

restarted blender, but no 'new export option under File->Export, "3D Studio 4KEX"',
(following the blender 3ds export thread - did not want to clutter up that thread)

retried starting blender as administrator, retried compatibility mode, but no luck.

Thanks - works now - the key was the installation directory - first screen capture in the blender_tut linked in your 'Blender tricks and tips' thread ('use the installation directory').

P.S.
Note to those installing blender 2.49b (the version that works with the export script) in some newer windows OS computers - first download and install python 2.6.6 windows installer from python.org 2.6.6 link and set your environment path to include ";C:\Python26;C:\Python26\Scripts".
