7.00.033 is now available as a free public beta download.

This update features a brand new challenge type: Quadcopter Trials. Take a new auto-leveling x-configuration quad through courses that require you to fly through rectangular gates and land on touch pads. (Final level times are still TBD.)

Earn a medal in this beginner-level challenge and you will be rewarded with the new Quadcopter X!

We also added the Flyzone Calypso in this update! The Calypso is a powered glider with a folding prop and a 73" wingspan.

Note that we made significant changes to part of the collision system in order to fix some issues. We believe it to be stable, but please be especially alert for bugs in this area and let us know if you find any.

See the full release notes below for more info, and please let us know if you discover any new bugs.

This version is compatible with 7.00.031 for multiplayer.

Perform the following steps to obtain the update:
  1. Start the RealFlight 7 Launcher
  2. Click Additional Options, then Technical Support
  3. Click Enter Tech Support Code
  4. Enter the following code: B#yh2q8355h2ch (If successful, you will see a message saying "You are now registered to use the Public Beta site until the new version is posted to official download site.")
  5. Go back to the main Launcher menu and click Registration/Updates
  6. Make sure that in the bottom left corner it says Temporary Public Beta. If not, try reentering the code
  7. Click Update to Latest Version; alternatively, click Update to Specific Version, choose 7.00.033 from the list, and click OK.

The LauncherHelper will need to restart partway through this process. Answer "Yes" when it asks if you want to continue downloading the new version. When this process is finished, you will have the latest available version of RealFlight 7.

NEW FEATURES:
  • Quadcopter Trials challenge (uses a new unlockable quadcopter model)
  • Flyzone Calypso
  • Quadcopter X (a new aircraft that is unlocked by earning a medal in Quadcopter Trials)

FIXES/IMPROVEMENTS:
  • Previously problematic collisions with airport objects are much better behaved. This typically manifested as the aircraft being violently sucked into or ejected by an object.
  • Virtual channel keypresses (y, u, i, o) function properly within challenges
  • The "in cockpit" effect applied to engine sounds in nose cam and onboard camera views does not get stuck on after switching to a PhotoField while it's active. This also prevents it from muting all engine sounds if you switch back to a 3D airport and reenter nose/onboard cam.
  • Heli blade blur disks do not exhibit an unnatural wobble when the 3D art's rotor head frame hierarchy matches a certain pattern (more info)
  • Opening the MP gadget does not affect the camera mode
  • Entering the Challenge system ends an active recording
  • The View->Effects->All/None menu items have no effect on the Heads-Up Display
  • The Gadgets->Close All menu item turns off the Heads-Up Display
  • A new console command, "unlockRewardsFromEPs", unlocks reward content that previously existed in Expansion Packs/Mega Packs. It does this only when the associated EPs/MPs are installed. (more info)

Known issues

Here are a couple of known issues in this version:
  • Virtual channel keypresses now work in airplane trainers, too, but not in heli trainers.
  • Multiplayer: If the MP gadget is open when someone joins the session, the camera will reset to fixed.
We still intend to address both of the above issues, possibly before this new update goes public.
