This is exactly what happens when I plug in the dongle and start RF without the transmitter turned on.
You had full control over things during the calibration? My first thought was that maybe you've selected a model on the DX6 that is not the one that was bound to the WS2000.
What type of model did you create on the DX6 for use with RF? The simplest way to go is a basic Acro (airplane) model.
The next thing to check would be the Controller Profile. The standard "Spektrum Receiver" profile should at least get you some basic control to go with the default Acro model setup. It needs a little improving, but basics such as throttle, aileron, elevator, and rudder should work.
