OK to keep Interlink DX controller plugged in all the time?

Rather than plug in and unplug the controller from the USB port every time I enter and exit RealFlight, can I leave the controller plugged in all the time? I assume the orange power light will not burn out (it's LED, I presume), so are there any other risks?

Along that line, I thought I read somewhere that the PC won't go into sleep mode if the controller is left plugged in. Not sure why that would be the case, if it's true.

I leave my Interlink plugged in 24/7. Certain configurations of PC's do have problems going to sleep with it plugged in however mine does not. I put my computer asleep manually and it stays asleep until i turn it back on.
 
Thanks. The screensaver works fine and sleep mode works fine with it plugged in. I was more concerned with whether the controller could be damaged or somehow "worn out" by keeping it constantly plugged in. (Even though it's basically solid state.) So it looks like that is not the case from what you are saying.
