Old School Model Works Sport Air

I started getting the Sport Air ready to map. I haven't started mapping it yet and I need to do one more thing before I start mapping. But it's starting to get there.

The last thing I needed to do is adjust the center of the wings where they come together after adding the dihedral. I just finished that so now I should be ready to start mapping. But that's enough for now.

We watch a lot of the 1950s black and white sci-fi movies. We have tons of them and watch them a lot.

It could be cool to do color schemes with the movie posters as the theme!

I started mapping the Sport Air. I have the fuselage, wings, hstab, and vstab mapped. I don't know why but I'm excited to see this one painted. It's such a simple old-school plane I really like it. I have a simple brain I guess.

I finished the 1st pass of mapping. I still need to do the 1x1 mapping.

I haven't done the 1x1 mapping yet but I did start on the color scheme. I always seem to do that part backwards these days. I get in a hurry to see what the plane looks like.

The side view is almost finished. It still needs the white stripe.

I have everything finished but the OSMW decal that goes across the bottom of the wing.

Thanks. The fellow at OSMW I've been working with sent me the top, bottom, and side views of the real plane, so my CS is exactly like the real plane.

I started working on the 1x1 mapping this morning. I added the test stripes I use to do it but stopped after that for a break. Next time I work on it I'll do the actual 1x1 mapping.

I did the 1x1 mapping on everything but the fuselage and then got tired and stopped. These days I can't do that much before I get tired and have to take a break. But it will be nice to get the 1x1 mapping finished so I can do the spec map and import it into RF so I can see what it looks like.

I went back and did the 1x1 mapping on the fuselage so the 1x1 mapping is done. Now I need to update the color scheme with the final mapping and create the spec map. So things are moving along nicely.

I finished the spec map and imported the Sport Air in RealFlight. Here's a couple of pictures of what it looks like in RF.

I still have some work to do to finish up the collision mesh, that's what I'm working on now.
