Hello,

Win2k SP4 crashed and I finally got back up and had to reinstall service pack 4.0. All programs run OK except G2. It has run fine for a year or more. When I run it, I get the f ollowing:

Ordinal 12 could not be located in dll link library DSOUND.dll

Have completely cleaned the computer checked all hardware, defragged disk and registry, checked readability of all files, and it is running stable and quick - no software or hardware problems.

Well dsound.dll is at c:\winnt\system32 OK along with all the other drivers. However, it is has a size of 298,256 and is dated 12/07/99. Kind of old.

If this dll is courupted, I could replace it with a newer one from my wifes win 98 machine. but I am worried about courupting my boot.ini file, and I get warning messages from the OS when I try to copy replace this dll. Don't want another blue screen...

I tried downloading the latest upgrade again from realflight, to no avail.

Since I already wrote tech support via email and received no reply, would appreciate ideas from realflight or anyone who reads this.

Thank you,

Peter in Colo
