Pano Airfield made in Evolution - What versions of RF Can Import

I made a pano airfield using Evolution and RF7.5 reports "Invalid file extension in RFX file" when trying to import. Is there a way to make the file work for 7.5?

Over 48 views and no comment(s). Am I missing something simple? Is there a way to make this pano airfield work with older versions of RF? Any help would be great.

Read the thread below about EVO's new material handling, it should answer your question. Read this quote from that thread.

Compatibility Between RealFlight Versions
Art and swap pages content created using older versions of RealFlight (including Evolution prior to this beta) will continue to work in Evolution. Going forward, art created using the new pipeline will not work in older RealFlight versions.

OK, that makes sense. If I build the pano airfield and save it in RF9.5s, do you know the possibility of that working in RF7.5?

Try importing your airfield into Evo DX9 Deprecated beta, I have tested with many aircraft and helicopters, it seems to work okay, unfortunately I have not tested with an airfield.
The saved RFX exported file from the DX9 Deprecated works in RF7, RF8, RF9, RFE and RF-X.

Thanks for the information. Was able to start Evolution in the DX9 Deprecated mode. I still get an error message trying to import the .RFX file. From there I will rebuild the pano airfield in DX9 Deprecated and see if the guy who has RF7.5 can open it.

Yeah, building the airport in DX9 would be an option to try.

I import the FBX files from 3dsmax directly into DX9, load the plane and test fly, then use the Simulation/Export/Entire Aircraft to generate the .RFX file.

Don't forget to switch back to the DX11 Public Version of Evo, after the build process has been fully completed, so you can get auto updates and DLC content.

I made a simple export (Pilot and Plane spawn, and a couple custom 3D static objects) of the airfield using the beta version and the guy with RF7.5 was able to import is and it seems to work.

Now I've developed another issue. In the original version, I took screenshots of the Properties windows of all the assets in my completed original version so I have references for placing all the static objects in the beta version. Everything was going good. I started with the Pilot Spawn and Plane Spawn and worked my way down the list of static objects. Until the objects I was placing started to look out of place. When I referred back to my Pilot Spawn, its Relative Position numbers had changed. And if I readjust my Pilot Spawn back you its original Relative Position numbers, it moves to a different location making all the assets I previously placed wrong (their Relative Position numbers now need to be corrected). Is there an association with the Pilot Spawn that is causing this change?

I think I understand now. Relative Position of the objects is dictated by the Parent. The Parent (Objects) changes as you add objects that change the overall perimeter. So as the Parent (Object) perimeter enlarges, all of the Relative Positions change.

Good to hear the DX9 beta works with your initial tests for an airport with a basic configuration, and now allows other users with previous versions of RF to import the resulting .rfx file, let us know of any issues that arise as you add more objects to make the the airports more complex.
