Photo Field Max Resolution

Is there a maximum resolution defined for creating the panoramic image for a photo field? I've spent hours searching & reading the forum and internet only to find conflicting information. Preparing to photograph our field and knowing the approximate final resolution that RealFlight can accept would be helpful.

The information I've found online shows max ranges from 10,000x5,000 to 21,000x10,500.

I'd like to created the highest quality image possible, but don't want to go overboard with super high resolution only to find I need to down-scale it to import into RealFlight.

I have been looking at the generated dds files for scenery - and none appear to be higher than 4096x4096 pixels. There are 6 per scenery setup. It might be the case that 4096x4096 is the highest resolution RealFlight will do for these dds files, in which case, a higher resolution input image mightn't make a difference. I'm still learning though - not speaking with knowledge.
