RealFlight 6.5 is a big disappointment

RealFlight 6.5 is a big disappointment.

As everyone knows there have been many RealFlight Generations. So what has changed.

The Interlink Futaba has changed with each new Generation release of RealFlight.

The RealFlight 6.5 Software however has had nothing more than bandages or very little tweaks done to it.

The RealFlight 6.5 Software is utilizing horribly outdated graphics techniques which is outrageously disappointing given the great reputation of Knife Edge.
Presently RealFlight 6.5 is using static graphics which has been done frame by frame. It is anything but real to life as Advertised.

RealFlight 6.5 Software is NOT COMPATIBLE with any of todays modern computers utilizing the latest graphics cards and multiple CPUs.
There is no excuse for this kind of behavior given Knife Edges great reputation.
There is no excuse for this given that there have been many Generations of the RealFlight and that this RealFlight 6.5 has been released during a time when many new computers with the latest graphics and CPUs technology have been in the market for more than a year now.

Lets talk about the weather now.
There has been no effort to modernize the RealFlights weather in any of release of their generations.
No one can mimic the weather by manually setting weather conditions which is also an ad hock setup in RealFlight.

There have been several flight simulators released in the marketplace from which Knife Edge could have used as an example to model by and incorporate it into RealFlight and they have chosen not to.

Microsoft has released many Flight Simulators which utilized real weather conditions which updated every 15 minutes and with a third party addon the real weather could be setup to update within every 1 minute. X-Plane is another Flight Simulator which also has been around for many years and there is also Flight Grear the Open Source Flight Simulator.

Real weather conditions is critical to any kind or type of Simulation of which Knife Edge has made no effort what so ever to incorporate it into any of RealFlights Generations.

There have been some effort by Knife Edge to import some earlier software into the 6.5 but with poor results.
The reason for this is because Knife Edge has made no effort what so ever to utilize modern graphics designs that take advantage of the more recently released computers hardware configurations.

Many or most of the Aircraft models are not and do not work properly with the exception of very few.

When the Harrier aircraft is hovering and it is facing you, and you look into the main ducted fan you will see that the fan is static. The fan is not given the impression of movement as does the spinning rotors of the helicopter models or the spinning propellers of the airplane models. Is this what you would expect from Knife Edge these many releases latter. Is this a realistic model?

When the Bell 222 is off the ground and you retract the landing gear the Bell 222 model looses power and it is dramatic. Is this what you would expect from Knife Edge these many releases later? Is this a realistic flying model?

When Knife Edge released its first or second generation of RealFlight they made an AirWolf model that was very good.
Know that I have purchased the RealFlight 6.5 the first model I went to was the AirWolf only to be horribly disappointed.

There are several AirWolf models VARIANTS and not one of them works properly with the RealFlight 6.5 and after going through the forum none of hem worked well with several other RealFlight Generations. So what happened to the model that was produced by Knife Edge? and for what reason is there not an AirWolf Model with guns that open and close, Rocket launcher that opens and closes, Jets for added thrust and lights that work? Why has this not been a major model like the Harrier, of the newly F35 and other such popular models when the AirWolf continues to be a very popular Rc Model throughout the world?

Why in all the RealFlights releases has there been only a couple of scale RC aircraft models when Scale RC Aircraft is as popular as the other RC Models?

Why Should Knife Edge care about making any improvements to the RealFlight simulator when they don't have to do anything other than collect $200 from each of its customers like myself.

Think about that $200 dollars for a simulator for which the software that in todays standards is severely outdated and runs more like an Atari 800 or Commodore 64 computer games!

Thank you for reading my comments.

You probably should post this thread in the RealFlight 6 corner vs the G2 section of the form. Most of what you have said has been brought up many many times before.

That's a lot to swallow for a first post. You may have wanted to try the demo first before spending the 200 bucks smart guy:rolleyes:

You honestly don't know what your doing posting in the RF2 page?

I think that the poster is a "big disappointment".

Sheez, he needs to get a clue.

I hope he goes out and buys any of the other leading sims and runs those for a while.... he'll be back realizing he's chewed his own foot off.

The poster is absolutely correct. Real flight doesn't have any competition to compare it to. It just keeps putting out the same crap over and over. They have no reason to raise the bar. This is the most outdated and buggy sim software on the market. Then there is the losers like you who bully anyone who criticizes anything about it.

Nothing constructive from you so far.... just whine, whine, whine.

Would you like some cheese too?
