Starting Model Aircraft design.

I am interested in attempting model design for RF7. I have downloaded Autodesk's 3ds max 2012 program which I understand is the basis for RF7 models.

In playing around with it and listening/reading some of the beginning tutorials on the KnifeEdge Software website, the Autodesk website and Youtube there seems to be a fairly steep hill to climb! It is a big and many-featured application. Some of the Youtube tutorials seem to be useful.

Any comments on beginning this endeavour!

Here are video tutorials that Boof has put together that are RF specific. Start with a simple model and you skills will progress. Its daunting to everyone their first time. We have all started right where you are.

Welcome to the addiction. Here's another of boof's video series. It's not yet finished, but it's a step by step series in making an Acro sport bi plane. Not really a beginner model, but would make good viewing none the less.
