I received evolution and tried to set up a steam account to download but I can not get thorough the verification process I have tried numerous time. I have cleaned the cash on my browser unplugged my router still nothing. Any help would be appreciated Thanks

That new reCAPCHA is a PITA. I had a similar problem trying to recover the username/pw on an account I created several years ago and never used. Every path to help in steam required passing reCAPCHA - which has been modified to lock out AI's. Well, it also locks out real people, too. I think that it actually locks your ip address out after you fail a few times, so even if you manage to pass, it sends you to another reCAPCHA instead of letting you in. I finally PM'd a friend here to request that HE try to get them to send a PW reset link to my email address. HE managed to pass the CAPCHA challenge & it worked after I had tried for about 3 days.
@Ryan Douglas: Is there any way to get help from Steam if you can't pass the new (nearly impossible) reCAPCHA tests?

Why is real flight not taking responsibility for these issues? It is there product and if you can not use it and I doubt they will give you a refund once the box has been opened

I'm not sure they aren't... or won't. That's why I tagged Ryan. It's only been 3 hours, on a weekend. Give them a little time to respond.

This sounds like a Steam problem, which would affect every major video game maker in the world. If so, I'm sure somebody much bigger than RealFlight/Horizon Hobby would be pushing Steam about it.

Have you tried contacting Steam directly? The game makers can only complain about the problem, just like you. Steam would have to resolve it.

I'm not sure whether you're responding to me or to newby. But I DID try to contact Steam about my problem. EVERY link I found on their site to support lead through a reCAPCHA test, which I couldn't get past to obtain support. I finally gave up trying to get help from Steam & contacted a friend on this forum. He was able to use my email address to get Steam to send a pw reset link to my email. I couldn't do it myself, because the pw reset request required that I get past that test to request the reset. And as I said above, even when I was able to get a green light from reCAPCHA, it said there was a problem with my response & led me to yet another reCAPCHA test. It was VERY frustrating!

I had to use my old computer to set up account when it went to verify im human I used the voice option instead of the pictures and it worked

Mine wouldn't let me use the voice option. I don't remember the exact message, but it said something like try again later. How much later? Darned if I know. A few minutes didn't work. A couple hours later didn't work. The next day didn't work. So I gave up trying that. And as I said earlier, when I finally got the visual one to let me go to the next step, the next step was another one because it said there was something wrong with the one I had just done! And I agree that it was a Steam issue, not related to RF.

I haven't personally encountered that with Steam, but it certainly does sound frustrating!

(FWIW I did end up in a similar situation once with something totally unrelated to RealFlight or Steam, where I was quite confident I was answering correctly but somehow ended up trapped in a loop. I think, like @newby, I escaped it by using a voice option, but it was some time ago and I can't remember for sure now.)

Here is the Steam support page, which is the right place to go for these kinds of issues that have to do with the Steam service itself and not our software specifically. (@Bill Stuntz, I assume that's where you went.) We would still do our best to help if possible, though.

If a lot of our users end up getting stuck, it is something we could mention to Steam through a Support ticket of our own as a publisher. They wouldn't drop everything to overhaul the entire system based on a complaint from just us, but it would be data for them, and if enough users are struggling with it that could prompt some action.

Another thing to try in that situation is using a different web browser. Perhaps Firefox would work where Chrome failed, or Internet Explorer, etc. Along those lines, a different device (tablet, phone) may also help.

I did try different browsers - FF & Edge, but didn't think to try my phone. That might have worked if I turned off my WiFi to force a different ip address. Maybe it would have let me use the audio option instead of using the graphic option - which probably would have been impossible with 1/4" square pictures on my phone when I couldn't get past the 1" square pictures on my PC.

I was able to somehow submit a support ticket for a purchase issue where I faked the purchase info except my email and phone and got past that captcha. I was then able to simply register using the problem Steam captcha and not get the error. Hope others are able to get past this. Horizon Hobby chat said they'd mention it in their next Friday support meeting but didn't have anything else to offer.

Just got RF Evolution and attempted to set up a steam account and could not get pass the CAPTCHA. My son suggested using my phone to set up my steam account, then return to Evolution on my PC and sign in to my newly created steam account. Worked like a charm, had no problem setting up steam on the phone. Hope this helps other new owners who have the same problem.
