This post is a comprehensive instruction tutorial on how to perform the task of adding weapons to an aircraft in RealFlight G5. In this tutorial, we will add a machine gun to the included AT-6 Texan. The Channel 5 Dual Rate switch will be used to control the firing of this weapon. You can build on what is explained here to perform more complex functions such as moving the weapon mount point, adding multiple mounts, etc.

To add a machine gun to the AT-6 Texan

Prerequisite: RealFlight G5 Running and AT-6 Texan loaded.
Instructions:

1. From the Aircraft Menu Select "Edit AT-6 Texan"

2. In the aircraft Editor Window Select Options From the Top Menu Bar

3. Ensure "Display Advanced Properties" is Checked

4. Left Click on the "+" Signs Next to "Airframe" and "Electronics" to Expand

5. Right Click on "Electronics" and Select "Add" and Select "Add Physical Servo"

6. Left Click on "Physical Servo" in the "Electronics" List to Select

7. Left Click on "Physical Servo" in the "Electronics" List Again to Rename

13. Left Click on the "+" Sign Next to "Fuselage" Under "Airframe" to Expand

14. Right Click on "Fuselage" and Select "Add" and Select "Add Single Machine Gun"

15. Left Click On "Machine Gun" to Select

Great tutorial. I also like adding guns to aircraft that look like they should have them. Like the Huey that came with the game looks like it has wings for rockets and guns. So here's what I did:

1) Clicked Fuselage and added rockets
2) In the position settings I set x=0.6 and z=-.350
What that does is position the rockets where the model has them. I use the top view and the front view to make sure everything is lined up.
3) I also usually change the angle as well, I set inclenation to -5 degrees. Makes it so I can hover from a helicopter and still shoot the ground.

Any Idea on how to make a gun change direction based on inputs from a switch? I am trying to make a gun pod that when I change the value, the direction the guns are firing in changes
