upgrade 3.5 -> 5.5 -> 6 ?

Would it be possible to get an official response if a full version 3.5 that was upgraded to 5.5 be able to use the 6.0 upgrade package? I am confident the older style of controller will physically work. I am wondering if the serial numbers required for the upgrade will be accepted?

We developed RF6 so it would work with the Interlink Plus controllers and G3 serial numbers, but I'm not sure whether Great Planes is prepared to continue supporting the Interlink Plus. That could mean that if you run into problems there won't be any way to get assistance.
