I had controller not work. I see a lot of posts: you need powered hub. I just put on a plain cheap (no power) hub. Works fine.

Yes, typically a non-powered hub works just fine. It seems more like a timing issue than a power issue.

Agree, it doesn't need to be a powered hub. I have a powered USB 3.0 hub and an unpowered USB 2.0 hub from Amazon, and both work fine. The powered one works either with or without the power adapter connected. So it's not a power issue; I believe it's some sort of lack of communication between InterLink DX and some newer motherboard USB chipsets that can support USB-C.
