Using RF9 for developing autonomous drone racing

A while ago I asked Jeremy if we could get a low lag video feed out of RealFlight so we could use it for developing computer vision systems. That turned out to be difficult, but I've now solved it with a low lag screen capture method. See this demo:

I'm using this with a computer vision group at my local university (ANU) to develop autonomous drone racing

tridge, thanks for this. I have interest in the same area of research. I'm currently using AirSim for generating test environments for autonomous navigation in copter, but I would like to move over to RF so that I can leverage the fixed wing model support and superior physics. I'll try out the method you described, did you ever make headway on a visual API? Are you using guided mode with position vector inputs or rc overrides? I've had decent luck with the position method.
