Veco Brave

HA... Dumb ole me. I went to the bank and they were closed for Memorial Day. Then I went by the flying field and there was lots of guys there. I got to talk to more of the guys and all of them were really welcoming, so I'm going to like flying with them. I guess I'll wait till tomorrow to put the new plane together and just enjoy the day. Maybe, but it's hard to keep my mind busy and not think about my wife all the time. I know she would want me to enjoy the time I have left, but it's nearly impossible to do it.

I worked on the physics this morning and got all the parts moved and resized, so next I need to set the part weights and start the flight physics. I guess an update on the new plane. I've been having a really hard time this week emotionally, because of Donna passing, so every time I started to work on the new plane I put it off. There's some kind of a disconnect between sitting at the computer and actually doing real work physically. And, it's rained for two days so the flying field is really wet. But it seems like I feel a little better today so hopefully I can get myself to work on the plane. I'd love to go out and do the maiden flight but my grief has held me back from doing any physical work. I was afraid I'd mess something up, so I just put it off.

Here's a beta for you to play with, let me know if you have any issues or something needs to be changed.

I put the black version of the brave back on for the beta so you can see if it looks good to you. I'm also posting a picture of the fuselage in the color scheme tga with a yellow brave on the left side of the fuselage and a black version of the brave on the right side. Let me know which one you like. At first I thought the yellow brave would look good because of all the yellow on the plane. But after I put it on I thought the black version looked better. BUT... I'd sure like to know which color of the brave you guys like the best.

Thanks guys. Now I need to finally put my new plane together. I tried a lot of times to work on it but I just couldn't get myself to do it. I needed one more thing before I put it together, and got it last night. So now I just need to get going and put it together.

I started putting the Turbo Timber together today and ran into a problem, which is going to delay putting it together until some screws I ordered come in. The directions for the landing gear say to use 2 M3 16mm self-tapping screws to secure the ends of the springs to the fuselage, which are in a small plastic bag, so no problem there. But when you attach the hstab the directions say to use 2 M3 12mm self-tapping screws, but there isn't any of those in the little bags with all the screws. All the screws are in separate bags (unlabeled) but there isn't a bag with 2 M3 12mm self-tapping screws in it. There's a bag with 2 M2.5 12mm screws in it and a bag with 2 M3 10mm screws in it, but no bag with 2 M3 12mm screws in it. I'm measuring all the screws with a dial caliper. I went to the local Ace hardware store but they didn't have "any" metric self-tapping screws, so I ordered some from AMAIN hobbies since I couldn't find any at HorizonHobby.

I only found one large plastic bag with all the hardware in it, which I'm wondering is right because the directions for putting on the floats calls for some screws I don't have either. So I'm going to open the main box again and look through the foam frame that held all the parts, maybe there's another bag of screws I didn't see. And example of other missing screws is, the float says to use M2.5 25mm machine screws which isn't in any of the bags in the main hardware bag I opened. So maybe I missed a bag somewhere, but that would probably be just for the floats. I'll let you know what happens when I look for another bag.

So HA... I finally start putting it together but run into a problem.

I just took the main foam frame that held all the parts out of the box and looked at every nook and cranny but I didn't see another hardware sack.

One more question before I release it. Which way does the brave look better, the original black, or yellow? Initially I didn't care for the yellow, but it's growing on me, so I thought I'd run it by you guys. And lastly, I think I'll reduce the size of the brave just a little, it seems a tad too large.
