Can any one tell me why my Spektrum DX 7 and my DX6i will not work with G3.5.
My Futaba T7CHP works fine.
Thanks

First question is, Do you have the correct plugs?
Second, did you try channel mapping?

Please describe how "it won't work", then you'll be in the ball park.

There are threads here about setting up the Spektrum with G3/G4.

Check them out.

SPEKTRUM DX7 AND DXi 6 will not work

Some models there is no throttle . the blade models there is throttle but the the heli roll over on its left side right away uncontrollable. have tried to remap but can not see why it should be any different the my Futaba witch works find right out of the box.

Try this.

Try This Out

Setting for Realflight 3.5 to Spektrum DX7

Select your Helicopter and Save it as Something you like.

Once your DX7 is connected with the Interlink cable

Choose Your Heli, I chose the Aurora 3D Helicopter from the expansion pack 2 of RealFlight , inside joke = since that is the only way I can fly one. ha ha.

Select the Aurora 3d Setting in Aircraft Editor:

Select the Radio Type: Set to Pass Through

In the Electronics Menu in Aircraft Editor:
Remappings for Reciever in RF 3.5

Rudder Servo: Heading Hold Gyro
Throttle Servo: Receiver Channel 3
Fixed to 0%: Fixed Value% 0
Fixed to 50%: Fixed Value% 50
Fixed to 100%: Fixed Value% 100
Pitch Servo: Receiver Channel 2
Roll Servo: Receiver Channel 1
Collective Servo: Receiver Channel 6
Heading Hold Gyro: Receiver Channel 4
Headspeed Governer:
Throttle Input Receiver Channel 3
RPM Input Receiver Channel 7

In Channel Mapping in Realflight 3.5
Channel 1 Roll
Channel 2 Pitch
Channel 3 Throttle
Channel 4 Yaw or Rudder
Channel 5 Dual Rate
Channel 6 Knob
Channel 7 Smoke
Channel 8 3 Postion Switch

In the Spektrum DX7:

The following is personal Preference:

Remember since the model in RF is + and - Pitch
I had to start the pitch at 50% which in RF is 0 pitch
and 100% at high stick

[Pitch Curve] Throttle Hold
Remember since the model in RF is + and - Pitch
I had to start the pitch at 50% which in RF is 0 pitch

[Pitch Curve] St-1 "Idleup 1"
Remember since the model in RF is + and - Pitch
I had to start the pitch at 0 pitch at low stik

[Pitch Curve] St-2 "Idleup 2"

Now do fly and adjust as needed

You don't have to do all that.
You're probably just in "Heli" mode instead of "Acro" on your radio. Switch to Acro, do the calibration, and then do channel mapping to set everything properly.
-Eric

How do you switch to ACro mode.

sure hate to sound stupid but how do you get into Acro mode from Heli on the DX6i an the DX7
Thanks
Maddog

ACRO MOde

figured out how to get into ACRO mode but made no difference. Do you not need to be in Heli mode in order to fly the Heli in G3.5. I made no changes to my Futaba T7CHP just pluged it in with the adaptors and it works fine. can not understand why Iam have such trouble with the SPektrums.
MadDog

Did the radio actually stay in ACRO mode or did it switch back to heli? If you just change it and then cycle power, it'll stay in heli. Make sure you have a little picture of an airplane when you turn on the radio, on the home screen.
Turn off all mixes and what not.
Make sure you go through the channel mapping and calibration. If you don't, nothing will work. Futabas go in this order
1 2 3 4
Ail, Elev, Thr, Rud
JR goes
1 2 3 4
Thr, Elev, Ail, Rud
It's no surprise that the Futaba worked without channel mapping because it's the same sequence as the default radio. The Spektrum will require you to move those things around.
-Eric

Spektrum DX7& DX6i will not work

Thanks I will try it . If can not get it to work will just use my Futaba. Just got my Trex 500 today and plan to use my DX7 with it . I down loaded two Trex 500CF(the one I bought) and a Trex 500GF from the swap page they seem to fly real well. If I can not get the Specktrum to work like I said before will just practice with my T7CHP.
Thanks
Maddog

Or you could use the included radio... I never use my normal radios with the sim any more unless I have a problem with *feel* out in the field compared to when I try the same thing on G4. Saves wear/tear on not only gimbals and switches, but batteries as well.
-Eric

Spektum not working

Well tried all that and gave up . will just use my Futaba. almost have my Trex 500 CF completed. Went together really easy and fast. 6hrs. looking forward to flying it this week. :D :)

DX6i on RealFlight - for Helicopters -> http://ironcreek.net/dx6i

DX6i on RealFlight - for Airplanes -> http://ironcreek.net/dx6i/plane.php

It can't be that different for the DX7 can it?

I've been trying to get my DX6i to work withe the Helos for several weeks. Thanks for this link to some very easy to follow directions!

Flying the Heli with a DX7

I finally figured it out

Setting for Realflight 3.5 or 4.0(not tested yet) to Spektrum DX7 not the DX7se.
I did get the DX7se to work but only with the Spektrum WL1000 Wireless receiver but thats another topic.
