d3dx9_36.dll Error

I am an XP user and I installed RealFlight G5 on my laptop. But after the installation, registration and update, I got the following error message when I tried to open the software.

Code:
Error Message: Cannot find import; DLL may be missing, corrupt, or wrong version
File "d3dx9_36.dll", error 126

BTW, this is the first time I'm running it.
Oh and I skipped the DirectX installation because I already had DirectX 9.0C

This is what the Technical Support application shows. (just in case)
Code:
System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158)
Processor: Intel(R) Celeron(R) M processor
1.60GHz Memory: 1918MB RAM
DX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)
Video Card: ATI RADEON XPRESS 200M Series
MFR: ATI Technologies Inc.
Version: 6.14.0010.6587 (English)
Launcher Version: 1.00.081 LauncherHelper Version: 1.00.030 RealFlight version: 5.10.027

[I know this thread already exists in the G4/4.5 Section but not here, so I posted this thread here... not knowing where else to post it.]
Thank you in advance for any kind of help.

Did you install Directx9 from the install disk?

Even if you have Directx10 installed you need to install 9.

It could also be the a Intel video card.

There is a fix for that also.

And that's your problem!

Run the installer and reboot.

This will not hurt anything.

Yes, the problem is that RealFlight uses some additional, optional DirectX9 components that are not included in the core DX9 installation. So if you skip the installation from the RealFlight disk just because you already have the minimum DX9 installation, you will get the error you mentioned unless some other product you've installed in the past just happens to have used the exact same helper components RealFlight needs, causing them to already be present on your system.

Thanks

I tried the DirectX install and now it works perfectly alright.

Thank you all.
^_^

In other words...

The cause of the problem is this:

"BTW, this is the first time I'm running it.

Nope, wrong move.
