Douglas B-26C Invader.

The Douglas A-26 Invader (designated B-26 between 1948 and 1965) is a twin-engined light bomber and attack aircraft built by Douglas Aircraft Company during World War II which also saw service during several major Cold War conflicts. A limited number of highly modified U.S. Air Force aircraft served in Southeast Asia until 1969.

It was found to be a fast aircraft capable of carrying twice its specified bomb load. A range of guns could be fitted to produce a formidable ground-attack aircraft

The postwar re-designation of the type from A-26 to B-26 has led to popular confusion with the Martin B-26 Marauder which first flew in November 1940, some 16 months before the Douglas design's maiden flight. The last A-26 in active U.S. service was assigned to the Air National Guard; that aircraft being retired from military service in 1972 by the U.S. Air Force and the National Guard Bureau and donated to the National Air and Space Museum.

Thanks to DirtyHarry3033 for the model and colour scheme. The CS is Pete Sandich's (Richard Dreyfuss') plane from the movie "Always".

Various adjustments for excellent flight performance in RF 7.5.

Flight controls include throttle, rudder, ailerons, elevator, landing flaps, retractable landing gear, wheel brakes, opening canopy and bomb bay doors, and releasing fire retardant.

Fly with the channel 5 rate switch in the “High” position.

Landing flaps are on channel 6.

Retracts are on channel 7.

Channel 8 controls: Fly with this 3 position switch in the middle position. This closes the canopy and bomb bay doors. The position closest to you opens the canopy and bomb bay doors. The position farthest from your releases the fire retardant.

Wheel brakes: this function was moved to the channel 6 flap control. Full flaps engages full brakes.

This model has excellent flying characteristics consistent with that of a heavy twin engine bomber. Nice landings with or without use of the highly effective landing flaps. A pleasure to fly.
