Piper PA-22 Tri-Pacer

This aircraft is part of a family of four-place, strut braced, high-wing light aircraft that were built by Piper Aircraft in the post-World War II period.

The nose wheel equipped PA-22, introduced in 1953, is a redesigned PA-20, which was a tail dragger. The PA-22 design introduced more pilots to easier, safer flying, and overcame the somewhat limited forward visibility on the ground and more demanding ground-handling characteristics of the PA-20.

Aircraft of comparable role, configuration, and era would be the Aviat Husky, Cessna 170, and Cessna 172.

Model by Junkboy999

Original paint template by Junkboy999. The paint template was extensively modified by mgiesbre, and is the white / 2-tone red / grey scheme you see here.

Model wingspan is 5.05 feet.

Various modifications for RF 7.5 have created very realistic flight performance characteristics.

The usual flight controls plus landing flaps and brakes.

The flaps were moved from the channel 8 three way switch to the Interlink channel 6 rotary knob.

Fly with the channel 8 three way switch closest to you. Clicking 1 position away from you (middle position) activates moderate brakes.

Lands quite well with or without the flaps.

This is a very nice flying smaller scale model. For pilots above beginner level.
