The Pitts Special, company designations S1 (single-seat) and S2 (two-seat) is a series of light aerobatic biplanes designed by Curtis Pitts. The design began in 1943–1944 and has been refined continuously since the prototype's first flight in September 1944. The current Pitts S2 still remains quite close to the original in concept and in design.

The Pitts Special held sway over the aerobatic world championships until the rise of the monoplane. It remains very competitive in all levels of competition, and remains a favourite of air show performers worldwide.

This Pitts Special S-2S model variant has been set up for scale flying as per a Pitts Special S-2C maintenance manual. Note that the wings angle of incidence are per the manual and within allowed specified tolerances. The parameters used are also consistent with accepted conventional biplane wing setup theory.

The aileron degrees of movement was modified for smooth realistic model performance.

Seven Channels:

Throttle
Ailerons
Elevator
Rudder

Smoke- Controlled by the 2-position switch on the top right of the InterLink Plus controller

Dual Rates- Controlled by the 2-position switch located on the front left of the InterLink Plus controller.

Note that although the Pits Special S-2S and S-2B may look similar, they are very different aircraft.

This airplane has fabulous aerobatic capabilities. Very controllable, right up to the edge of its
performance envelope.

Fly with the rate switch in the “high” position. A very desirable aerobatic biplane.
