This is another great Inter-war fighter put up by BRENTG several years ago, now in Half-Scale for RF 7.5

The Republic P-43, predecessor to the famous P-47 Thunderbolt….. As the Seversky P-35 was rapidly becoming obsolete (and after Seversky’s ouster from his own Company!), the newly re-organized Republic Aircraft Corporation’s P-47 project was still in its infancy, and unable to meet the needs of a frantic U.S.A. on the edge of war in 1939 …

Thus, their interim fighter to bridge that gap, the P-43…Bearing an even greater resemblance than its younger brother to Republics eventual Crown Jewel, the Thunderbolt, this plane is simply another “must have” in that Seversky/Republic Trinity…P-35, P-43, and P-47. The Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo of WW2 fighter evolution!

If you like early war-birds and large scale flying, you will like this plane. Standard controls, no high or low rates. Invisible flaps deploy when gear is down to aid in landing. The usual full power vertical stalls and scale-like top speeds as all my 50% builds. Cockpit Cam on F-4, swivels with scroll knob.

One annoyance issue is some tremble/bounce in the springy gear on loading…blip the throttle and it usually settles down, or feel free to edit to non-sprung, as you wish.

Thanks again to BRENTG for the EA’s, and keep looking for more updated color schemes to go with these bigger beauties!
