Supermarine Spitfire MkV with cannon, Medium Scale.

Seventeenth in the series of large scale WW2/1950s piston powered warbird AVs with scale speeds, realistic engine sounds, scale reaction to flight controls etc.

The iconic Spitfire was designed as a short-range high-performance interceptor aircraft by R. J. Mitchell, chief designer at Supermarine Aviation Works prior to WW2.
The full size MkV was the most numerous variant with over 6400 manufactured and it had a top speed of just under 400mph, for armanent it had four .303 inch machine guns and two 20 mm Hispano cannon.

The model has a top speed of around 140mph and half throttle cruise of around 85mph, wingspan is 16’, cannon fire has smoke and sound, engine exhaust emanates from the engine stub exhausts on both sides. Flaps have coupled elevator to prevent pitch down upon flap deployment. Take offs/landings are best off tarmac runways.

Usual controls with cannon fire on 3 position switch, towards you is off, middle is fire. Flaps on ch6 knob, retracts on ch7, rates on ch5 with up for normal.

Many thanks to Minou for the original superb EA.
