DirtyHarry3033’s Douglas TBD Devastator is IMHO the best military aircraft EA on the swap pages. I love that he did it to honor the fallen heroes of Midway. The list of those heroes from his original description is repeated here. This 50% scale TBD Devastator gives you a very heavy scale feel with a 25 foot wingspan. Max speed level flight is about 150 mph. You can get it over 200 in a dive. Best approach with full flaps is around 60 mph. The editor shows a weight of 220 lbs, but aerodynamics have been adjusted to give you the feel of a 700 lb model. Very realistic rotary engine sounds. Torpedo has been tuned to fly into the water - best release speed is about 100 mph. Elevator mixes help in maintaining level flight in all configurations (or proper descent with full flaps). Delays in canopy and wing movement have been removed and the servos slowed for the larger scale. Enjoy.

Flight controls are as expected. Switch assignments:

Knob - Flaps
Top Right - Landing Gear
Top Left - Torpedo Drop
3-Position - Down = Canopy closed, wings unfolded.
.............Center = Canopy open, wings unfolded.
.............Up = Canopy open, wings folded. Note - In this AV the canopy closes with the wings folded.

Elevator forward = Apply brakes

The rear gunner's canopy and MG configuration can be changed in the editor by changing "Engine to Show" in the Engine component:

4STROKE = Canopy open, twin .30cal MG mount (correct for VT-8 CS)
2STROKE = Canopy open, single .30cal MG mount (correct for Yellow Wings CS)
ELECTRIC = Canopy closed, MG stowed in bin (for either CS)
NONE = Canopy and MG will NOT be shown

Note - make sure "Display Advanced Properties" is selected in the Editor options!
