U-2 Dragon Lady, enlarged, 500+ MPH, Engine Modification
Original posted on these Swap Pages
Nice rendition ... good flying
Modification(s)
* Exhaust color changes with Engine Stage changes.
* Air Intake sim
* Flap and Speed Brake action(s)
- 3 position switch, back = no flaps, middle= flaps fully extended, forward= speed brake
- speed brake positions are adjusted with the knob
- retract = switch back (up)
- dual rates = sw. down (low) sw. up (hi)
The engine performs per ram air effect.
Without the ram air effect the engines performance is low.
Once the ram air speed is achieved, the engine efficiency continues to improve as airspeed increases.
In this scenario, 170 MPH starts the ram air effect.
Half throttle in low efficiency = ~140 MPH
Half Throttle in high efficiency =~275 MPH
Due to drag, it is hard to achieve the Ram Air Effect with landing gear extended. It's possible, but may require a dive to achieve.
Landing with flaps down will require at least 1/4 throttle.
Speed brakes are effective ... I use once the wheels touch pavement, or to slow down in a hurry from high speeds.
Landing gear slow the plane effectively also, but at a lot slower rate.
