Any interest in the Slopeaerobatics LeFish glider?

The LeFish is an aerobatic slope glider, designed by Steve Lange over at slopeaerobatics.com. I believe the entire horizontal stab rotates for elevator movement, making for some unique maneuvers.

With the lack of smaller slope gliders in RF, I think this would be a welcome addition to the sim.

All the information you could possibly need on the plane: http://lefish.wikia.com/wiki/Le_Fishipedia
Youtube video of it flying: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_oBuqhEg0xU

If there's already something similar to this that has been done, please point me in that direction!

Thanks in advance,
M

I'm glad to see there's some interest in it! Hopefully one of the modelers here takes interest enough to put one together for us.

In this zip you will find a rfx, max file, and CS tga for the LeFish. It has the holes in the wings behind the main spar and skin geometry with the ~SBS material applied over that. Basic physics have been applied; nothing more. It is not mapped nor is there a CS. This is far as I'm willing to take this project. Maybe someone else will take it further.????.

Remove the .rfx to use the zip.

Don't mention it. It is just the basic model with no servos or anything. I only have 40 minutes into it.;)

It needs to be mapped.
A CS needs to be made.
Physics refinements need to be done to fly like the real thing.

Yeah map it and place them where you like. If a model isn't mapped then no specific CS can be made.

Thanks Doug, I appreciate it! I think the only challenging thing will be getting the plane to "flip" correctly.

I have a Le Fish, so I could get the physics accurate. Mine has a full flying stab on it like Steve's so I'll make that version. I have already made other gliders in RF do mad flips so it won't take long.

Anyone care to help out on the mapping? I can handle the colorschemes, and it looks like Doug and 3-DMan are willing to work on the physics.

Great! Let me know when you're done with that, and I can start on the CS, while the other guys work on the physics.
