I was working on a CS for the A-10 when something really strange happened.
The paint on the left aileron dissapeard. no matter what I do, I cant fix the problem.
As you can see, the paint has resorted to the base color. Is there a way to fix the issue?

Nope, the Left aileron isn't mapped, so that is the default model color you are seeing.

Look at every CS on the swaps, or the stock CS, It's Grey.

I might expect this from a model off the swaps pages..

I think most of the Add On ACs are from the swaps, or ameture model makers,
instead of Knife Edge or Great Planes.

An example is the P-38. Auto-symmetry on the center fuse?
Even the F-14 from Exp.8 was mapped 3X better, which surprised me.
Although the back ground that shows up in Gimp is an inconvenient color, you
can still edit the whole CS.

Huh? The Add Ons, all 5 of them, were discs released by KE/GP as extras. Amateurs had nothing to do with them, except maybe to buy them.

The A-10 doesn't even have Fans in the engine nestles. Not even pictures.
There are just two black holes.

Just consider that evidence that us amateurs made/make KE step up their game. I've said that for a while, now.

CSs are not interchangeable from model to model.
In a way, your wrong. I can take the add on A-10, and start testing how I want the
CS to look. When I have it just right, and JunkBoy's A-10's available,
I'll know just how to paint the aircraft.(what I plan to do). Its not exactly interchanging the CS.

However, I can also just "cut-and-paste" with a little bit of rotation and re-sizing.
Although its much more work, its more along the lines of interchanging CS's.
I have tried something like this, but Its not that good. If you ever want to check it out, its my Cut Open CS for the F-22. I found a cut-away 3-view of the F-22 and used the top-down view. (I couldn't figure out how to transfer the side view.)

And I under stand. how long ago did the add-on's become available for G5.5 for free?
The models have improved since then, and I now realize that my comparison
between the F-14 and A-10 was unfair.

Sorry.

BTW, I think the modelers for MS FSX ought to take a page frome you all,
and your hard work. I have a bunch of DL'd aircraft that have either halffast, or no
virtual cockpits at all.
And THAT'S why Realflight is better than any full scale flight sim.
Better quality. one example is Jeffpn's Spartan Executive.
