This is the Bristol M1c. The third revision of the Bristol M1 designed in 1916 by Frank Barnwell and built by the Bristol Aeroplane Corporation. Despite the higher speed and better maneuverability It was rejected for it's high landing speeds that prevented it from landing in the small French airfields and the belief at the time that monoplanes were inherently unstable.
