"Cool" has very subjective meaning depending on the individual ... that's why I submitted my "cool" G4 snapshot :)

Hi all,

It took me some time to get the aircraft in these shots into position, so I hope they look realistic enough! :)

Here they are!

There haven't been enough entries yet to pick a winner so we're going to let this run another couple of weeks.

Remember that you must use a stock aircraft and a stock location. You must arrange your subject matter within the photo so that it looks like a picture from a magazine.

You must post the picture just as it was taken by RealFlight. Don't add a frame around the picture. Don't crop.

Set up your video card for anti-aliasing. Make sure the aircraft is well-lit. Don't zoom in too much or you will get a fish-eye effect, but don't zoom too far out or the aircraft will be too small in the pic.

I see a lot of good entries. Keep them coming. We will pick three winners and each winner will get something special.

 Possibly some people are confused by what you refer to as "frame your subject matter" then later say don't add a frame......

Frame your picture as in: Stage it, plan it, etc? To have a nice setting or backdrop to the picture correct? Instead of just some random "click and shoot"

Correct me if I'm incorrect.

I see. I'll edit my posts to remove the ambiguity. Thanks.

What the expression "frame your subject matter" means, is to get it in the middle of your whole 'frame'. IE, get the airplane in the center before you take the snapshot. :)

It's really open for interpretation. (This is only my opinion as I'm not a photographer)

I personally wouldn't find it necessary that the object has to be centered in the shot. Some very interesting photos could have the "object" half off the print. Or focused in on one particular area of the "object"

I get about every car magazine that's out....and some of the "feature" shots are close ups of a fender, wheel, engine......to emphasize a particular detail they would like showcased.

So it's all about the layout and the "planning" of a shot to make it interesting and real! Again this is only my interpretation

There is a sort of "rule of thirds" in photography which means that if you divided your picture horizontally and vertically in thirds (think tic tac toe) your subject would be where any 2 lines intersect. Or if you could "frame" the aircraft by tree branches, telephone poles, or wires abve, that would also be "framed."
