Diffuse map in 3ds Max 2021

Started getting back into some modeling again.
In the time since the last work, 3ds Max has changed from the 2018 to 2021 version.
The issue I'm having is RF8 has always been ok with diffuse color map material for the tga file, but that choice looks to not be present in Max 2021.
If a scene originally created under the older version of Max is opened, it shows the older Material Editor with a diffuse color map and a "legacy" reference.
Has anyone made some custom content with Max 2021 for RF8?
Any help/clues is appreciated.

Thanks

Well, I can`t answer your question FE, hopefully someone can, but good to see you back at it. I can`t be sure, but I think what`s left of the modelers here are using "Blender"...similar to Max, as you may or may not know....

Follow the attached pics to change from Arnold Renderer to Standard Legacy.

Thanks UT.
A full 180 as Blender use to be the rarest 3d modeling pgm, with Wings a bit more popular.
Models from both ( I thought) required running through Max for the pivots, but that has obviously changed..

ASJ,
Thanks for your help. That was the ticket to get the test plane into RF8.
Regretfully, the fin and rudder objects were corrupted along the way as they are ok in Max, but rotated in RF8.
Made a simple replacement and it is ok in RF8.
So, not too bad to make the final parts.

Holiday weekend: enjoy a great and safe time with family& friends

The Vstab looks twisted in the second picture, was that the result of the first import attempt?
Yeah, you will have to follow the Render setup procedure to change from Physical to Legacy for each new model. Good job it is a very simple fix and only takes about 10 seconds to do.

ASJ,
Yes, that was the first attempt.
As for new models, the setup procedure can be repeated or the existing scene can be "saved as" under a new filename I think.
But as you say the fix is simple.
Thanks again for the help!

Got back to the sport jet last week.
Gear and main gear doors are in and animated, but no nose gear doors yet.
Was a bit surprised it flies KE pretty well-- although I freely admit to not being great at it.
More to learn with this version of Max as with prior versions there was a way to get a good mirrored floor look to see the underside details.
The spotlight shining from below isn't causing any illumination as it did in the previous version..
So more tinkering with renders as time permits.

Long busy work days, but have got some time in on the sport jet.
Mapping well on the way, and there have been some quick visits to the paint booth.
Sorry for the slow updates!
