A pop up on my computer has advised that my computer does not support directx11 and that i should seek advice from the forum on how to obtain directx9_deprecated. Im not sure what all this means other than the curret version of directx will not run. If anyone can offer any hlep i would be very grateful. Thanks in anticipation.

Yep, follow the link from @asj5547 above (thanks!) to get up and running with the old version based on DirectX 9.
Please bear in mind that that version of Evolution will not receive any updates or improvements going forward, nor will it be compatible with DLC released after 2023 QCP3.
Please also note that pretty much any inexpensive computer from recent years should be able to handle the current DirectX 11 version of Evolution. The system requirements are quite modest. Hopefully you will be able to switch back and enjoy that version sometime soon! It will be there when you're ready.
