My third color scheme is a nice reproduction of the Gee Bee Model Z #4, City of Springfield, golden age racer. This is as accurate as I could get it based on fonts available and actual photos of real replica planes.
I actually used the "City of Springfield" logo on the engine cowl of real photo 1, heavily edited, to put on the CS. The last photo below is the only one I could find that shows the staggered registration number on top of the wing...
