Grumman F8F Bearcat

Have you tried to import just the Fuse and radial by them selves? If so, try just the Fuse+ one part, then add one part at a time, until CA bluey !

I've done the one at a time and when the 'unexpected error box' is happening it does show up after I add one of the cylinders. But like it did on the T-28 Trojan the error has went away so I'm just happy with that.

I don't know why the 'unexpected error' went' away again but I just moved all the cylinders around to make a 9 Cylinder Radial. HA.. It's sure funny how a simple thing like that peaked my interest again because I was ready to move on to something else. After working on a project for a long time you get kind of burnt out on it and need to do something different, but none-the-less the 9 Cylinder Radial is in the F8F.. and it's very nice looking if I don't say so myself.

Oh.. The triangle count is now 43,950 in 445 objects.

Cool you got that in there. The other one reminded me of this for some reason.

I always wait till the end to add the small features so now's the time since the plane is pretty much complete. So I'll start adding things like guns, the F8F definitely needs guns. But I've been asked for Nav lights too.. I can do that but what are we talking about? Simple cutouts so they're a part that can be painted? Or create a clear glass cover with an object behind it that can be painted? I don't think I'm interested in glowing objects on it but something like that would look good, meaning either a simple object that's cut out and can be painted or a formed clear lens with an object behind it that can be painted.

Okay while I'm on Nav lights. If anyone can find a close up picture of them that would really help. And how many of them are there? One on each wing tip and the one I guess in the back of the fuselage where the tail hook is? So how many of them are there and where are they for sure. That sounds like a dumb question I guess but I'm not quite sure and I haven't really looked for them much. I looked a little but decided not to do them, but I can but I'd like some help on good pictures of them or at least where they are for sure.

Glass covering lights that can be painted?

Now that would be cool ...

That got my attention ...

So did guns ... LOL

But I am glad to see you crammed that 9 Cylinder in there ... rather than having to place the four extra jugs on the wing ... :D

At least you could have added two per wing ...
[ducks under table]

;)

Next thing you know they will want the lights animated to blink and a center drop tank.

Both of them are possible ... LOL ...

Just not by me ... maybe one of these days ... so much I want to do ... not enough time to learn it all and do everything ....

The nine cylinder radial looks AWESOME.
I am glad you finally beat that "unexpected error" message. did you video tape yourself moving the cylinders around so you can replicate the procedure in the future. LOL.... that must be so annoying to have the computer saying "this can not be done" when you know it can. !!!

ha.. I actually thought about putting two cylinders on each wing when I did the test, but having them all in one place was better for moving them to the engine the next day. I'm sure glad the error went away so I could put the 9 cylinder radial on it, it looks so much better with 9 cylinders. The guns were always in the mix I just never thought to mention them but I'm out of switches so I guess I'll leave it up to you guys to do an AV for firing them. I like my control scheme so I don't think I can give it up to use the 3 way switch another way. I wish the interlink had two more switches. I still use the Interlink from RF 7 even though I have the RF-X Interlink.. I just don't care for it. Plus there's tons of people that don't have the RF-X Interlink so using the controls on the back of it isn't really that good of an idea. I just looked for Nav pictures and all of them I found had a clear lens with a light under it, so that's what I'll do.

Yeah I think I'll go with a clear lens with a painted light behind it, but the drop tank isn't for me I like to fly clean planes without a lot of stuff hanging on it.

Ha.. I did make a nice template so it's easy to rotate and place each cylinder though. And yeah the 9 cylinder radial does look awesome in there. I guess I need to release another beta so you guys can take a close look at it.

I've been gone all afternoon taking Donna to her pain specialist in Dallas so that's almost a 100 mile trip for down and back, not quite but pretty close. Then I looked for some Nav light pictures and now it's time to take a nap. I still haven't eat anything either, guess I'll do that before the nap. Old guys get tired easy.

Definitely relax and spend some quality time with your family, I have lots of aircraft in my Technoid Hangar to keep me occupied for weeks, talking of relaxing, I was flying your Curtis Jenny today, what a great model that is. !!!

Thanks I like the Jenny too it's definitely one of my better planes. I just got through watching a movie with my wife and I'm going to hit the sack early tonight, last night it was like 5am when I went to bed. ( or should I say this morning it was 5am)

Hum.. Something changed overnight. Does that work?

It looks like the gun barrels are glued to the leading edge of the wing instead of having the guns in the wings with the barrels sticking out. I'm probably nit-picking, but I know how picky you are about the details.

SO.. how would you fix it?
